We’ll be adding material from across the existing books into the core books and officially removing some previous core material. Any material not included in the new book will be considered non-canonical until we decide to revise it.
If we want HF to reach a new generation of gamers, multiple books won’t get us very far – stores much prefer single books as they’re easier to sell than telling a potential customer. Pathfinder and D&D have that market clout, but we don’t. The Kickstarter campaign may allow us to offer backers player-only books for their group, but there won’t be a Player’s Guide entering the retail chain.

Oh hell yeah. Any idea when said kickstarter is likely to happen?May 7, 2019 at 9:11 pm #10649SalieriCMinion
Yes, I see the problem. It can be daunting if you need to purchase at least three books to even get started. But splitting it in two (Players Guide and Game Masters Guide) is fine I think. But well that’s just my opinion and the mysterious “new generation of gamers” might think different about it. 😀
Anyway, I’m anxious to see what you’ll end up with. Could you share the schedule with us? I suspect you have a lot of stuff going on. I’m guessing Land of Water will be delayed quite a bit by this. But is Hellfrost revised top priority atm? No pressure, just curious. SDX was fine until now, it’ll be fine for the next months as well.May 7, 2019 at 10:26 pm #10650TAG WiggyAdministrator
In general terms, HF is a priority, but not our top priority – that’s reserved for a different project. We’ll be starting to discuss things in more solid terms when we begin to get new art ordered over the next few months. 🙂 Likely it will be 2020 before the book is out.

I read this and thought “I can’t wait two more years!”. Then I realized it’s halfway through 2019. Still living in the past I guess.

I realize Covid derailed and delayed many things in 2020. Given that, are there any updates for a release date for a new version of Hellfrost using Swade?
I’m new to Savage Worlds and really like the Hellfrost setting and want to play a game using it but since I’ll be teaching Savage Worlds to new players I’d like to ideally start with SWADE.
Thanks for a great body of work!January 19, 2021 at 5:03 pm #11093steveculshawMinion
Any news on the SWADE conversion?January 21, 2021 at 12:13 pm #11094BearmanMinion
I think a SWADE version is still har in the horizon.
The author’s been concentrating on his health so books will have to wait untill Eira and Hoenir agree 🙂
An unofficial conversion has been created but I have yet to try it. I’ve been running Hellfrost with the Deluxe edition rules for years and likely won’t change unless there’s a new rulebook for it.
Of course being new to SW and Hellfrost I get why you might prefer a SWADE edition fron the get go. Mayby try the conversion on and please do report your findings to the Roadwardens – and here perhaps? 🙂
Also: Nice to “meet” you both! 🙂January 21, 2021 at 2:39 pm #11095steveculshawMinion
Ooh, health definitely comes first !!!
Do you happen to have a link to this Hellfrost conversion?January 21, 2021 at 2:55 pm #11096BearmanMinion
There’s a link to it on page 1 of this thread, posted by “Red-24” 🙂
Hope it’s to your liking Sir!
