The museum is built around the archaeological remains of a viking house, not a reconstruction, the real thing. Whilst the museum is simply a single ‘exhibit’ it is really fascinating, and there is good use of technology to bring the story of the building to life. You leave with a sense of how tough the early Icelandic settlers must have been and how resourceful they were to live in such a challenging environment.
