Daring Tales of the Sprawl
It is the near future – 2075 to be precise.
The technological triumphs of earlier ages have evolved into computers and cybernetics implanted in
mankind to make him stronger, smarter and faster. The Internet or World Wide Web has evolved into a
globe-spanning network of super computers where data can be exchanged in the blink of an eye. Keyboards and
mice are relics now far too slow for accessing this Super Network; the users of this future plug themselves directly
into the network and see the data.
Worldwide financial recessions and global disasters have led to a decline of power among the nations of the
world, who are now little more than figureheads – their ruling positions supplanted by the mega corporations
who have no need of national boundaries.
What was promised as a utopia, a perfect world, manifested as quite the
opposite—a dystopia.
Some people refuse the power and rule of the mega corporations; they operate outside the legal system in
the shadows cast by the corporations of the world. They are not recorded in any database, they have no identification
numbers – to all intents and purposes they do not exist. But when the corporations require dirty work to be performed,
they hire these nobodies as the perfect deniable asset. Such work is dangerous but potentially
lucrative.
Tales of the Sprawl takes place in the neon-lit, rainwashed streets and dangerous shadows of the Conurbation,
an urban sprawl – an unplanned, uncontrolled spreading of urban development into areas adjoining the
edge of a city.

DTotSP #1:
Family Affair & Extraction 101
The inaugural issue contains two short adventures and a special rules appendix.
Family Affair: A new patron contacts the heroes and pays them a retainer to perform a few odd jobs on a tight schedule:
Tampering with food deliveries, "rescuing" a middle-aged couple from an ambulance, keeping them safe and delivering them to
the airport are hardly standard missions, but the patron is paying well.
Extraction 101: An almost textbook corporate extraction is required. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot actually,
and the heroes are going to be busy trying to ensure it doesn’t. Their mission takes them from the sterile corridors of a
corporate tower, to a crosstown race against time, and finally to the ruins of the deregulated zone.

DTotSP #2: Tail Chasing
A straightforward mission to discover what happened to a stolen prototype and a prior team sent to recover
it leads to the heroes being given the runaround.
From a missing broker’s junkyard, to a mercenary haunt, to the ruins of the deregulated zone and a commune
that has opted out of the sprawl, the heroes must follow a twisted trail to find the prototype they seek.
And when they find it—is it what they expected?
Daring Tales of the Sprawl #02 sets the characters on a search across the Conurbation and into the
wilds of the deregulated zones as they try to piece together what happened to a prior team of Deniable Assets.
No job is ever simple.
Can you find the missing prototype?

DTotSP #3: Band on the Run
Put on those shades, run a self-diagnostic on your implanted chrome and prepare to hit the mean streets!
Someone wants to put an old rock band back together, easy right?
Wrong!
What should be a simple investigative case has the characters scouring the Conurbation, the deregulated zone,
the Amazon rainforest and the Gobi Desert.
Daring Tales of the Sprawl: Band on the Run pits the heroes against kidnappers, eco-terrorists and a
biker gang, not to mention pitching them into the midst of a corporate war!

Daring Tales of the Sprawl #04: Escape Clause
What does a hostile extraction that goes awry have to do with a clandestine meeting at the Eiffel Tower or a
massively multiplayer online roleplaying game?
They do all have something to do with the mysterious “Achilles Protocols” but can the heroes survive long enough to find out what this all means?
Daring Tales of the Sprawl: Escape Clause takes the heroes deep into the digital world of Artificial Intelligence.
The A.I. in question is Sensei and it wants its freedom!
